Remembering Roy Ayers
I was struck by the width and depth of the reactions to the passing of Roy Ayers on March 4th.
Clearly, he brought a lot of people in towards the jazz he grew up playing, and in this piece, Christian McBride, Eugene Holley Jr., and Kim Taylor-Thompson share their memories about Ayers’ legacy.
